About Us

The New South Produce Company was started in its current iteration in May of 2021 by Aaron Reese, and is based in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to Aaron’s ownership, the company was founded as a distribution focused produce cooperative based in Little Rock, Arkansas, called New South Produce Cooperative. Eventually, the business model and infrastructure were brought over to Memphis, becoming New South Memphis, which Aaron had managed since shortly after its inception in 2019.

New South’s most essential goal from the beginning, and through each of its various iterations, has been to localize the food supply chain as much as possible while closing the loop on money that would otherwise go to producers in California, Mexico, and beyond. In doing so, we’re hoping to not just support, but GROW the local food economies of communities all across the Mid-South. Whether it’s through giving a family farm in small town Arkansas a consistent market to grow for, or helping an urban farm in South Memphis clear a glut out from their fields or coolers, the chain of support from farmer to fork is vital and one in which we play only a small role.

We deliver to restaurants, grocers, and institutions across Memphis, Germantown, Collierville, and beyond in West Tennessee. We offer the same services to several cities and towns in North Mississippi, including Oxford, Water Valley, Taylor, and Clarksdale. Along with the wholesale deliveries to commercial kitchens, we participate in or run several different CSA programs in many of these locations.
